Cremation Service Options

"Compassionate & Affordable Cremation Funeral Options in Newcastle & Surrounding Areas"

When considering cremation service options in Newcastle, there are several important factors to keep in mind. Cremation is often a more cost-effective option compared to burial, making it a popular choice for many families.

The funeral service can be held at the crematorium, as most have chapels available, or it can take place in a church or another meaningful location before proceeding to the crematorium. Another key decision is determining the final resting place for the ashes—whether to keep them in an urn, scatter them in a special location, or bury them.

Taking The guesswork out of funerals

What Are Your Options
For Cremation

DIRECT CREMATION

What happens when you don't want a funeral? This is what's called, a Direct Cremation. No service, no attendance & no fuss. The only additional fees that funeral homes in Newcastle may charge would be an after hours transfer fee. So when asking for quotes be sure that your up with what charges may be charged in addition to the standard run of the mill services.

Cremation Memorial Service

Memorial Services have been an option chosen by families that don't wish to have the persons coffin at the service. This meaning the cremation takes place and then after the ashes have been returned to the family a memorial service is held the same as if there were a coffin present.

Cremation Funeral Service (Coffin At The Service)

Much like the funerals you attend at churches, chapels and crematoriums in Newcastle, we provide the traditional cremation service to the community. This option allows families to grieve with a coffin present and have the opportunity to place petals on top of the coffin as a type of goodbye option.

No Fuss No Attendance Cremations, better known as direct cremations at Meighans Funerals start from $3,630.00

The short answer is YES. Funerals of all types have been held in many different locations. The only difference when having a cremation service at a church or any other venue other than the Crematorium means that the hearse will take your loved one from the church to the crematorium (privately) after the church service has completed.

When we think of after hours transfers we think, how can we possibly know when we will die? That’s exactly right. unfortunately these things just happen. But when we do after hours and even during working hours, you’ll notice that we send two experienced funeral directors to take your loved one into our care. This means that those costs associated with after hour are minimal to cover their wages, time & not to forget the specialised vehicle needed to conduct the transfer.

Sometimes we find that some small funeral homes or just starting out funeral homes may be a touch cheaper than we are. This is one hundred percent true, this can happen. But what we have learnt over the 100 years of serving the Newcastle community is what it actually costs a funeral home to conduct any type of service. The way we look at it is what will keep the funeral home in business and also keep costs down for the families we serve. We have found a very reasonable price that we can conduct every service professionally using the correct equipment and staff. Which begs the question – If we have a price that just keeps us going, is a low cost for families and done with the right equipment. How are funeral homes doing it cheaper and what corners have been cut to offer these services?
